Magic Hat Brewery

Project Overview:

A 7,500 SF expansion and renovation of a fully occupied, active brewery facility, including the construction of a mezzanine space designed to accommodate 20-foot-tall brewing tanks

To keep this Vermont brewery and popular tourist destination running smoothly, selective demolition was needed to accommodate the new construction, which involved close coordination with ongoing brewing production and a constant focus on cleanliness.

Magic Hat’s renovation included the fabrication and installation of a public tour “catwalk”. Starting in the public store known as the “Artifactory”, the catwalk travels through the production area at various heights above the production floor, and was completed while brewery production was in full swing. We accomplished this by developing a complete understanding of the flow of the production in advance, building a construction schedule around the production flow, and maintaining daily communication to accommodate the changes that often occur in brewery production.
