Project Details:
North Elba, NY
Performing Arts Center
Project Overview:
New Performing Arts Center hosts spaces for education, set building, community gathering and performances.
12,900 sf, two-story Performing Arts Center nestled in the Adirondacks on the campus of the North Country School and Camp Treetops. The main performance space, which includes both tiered and open floor area audience seating for stage production viewing is supported by a set building shop and state-of-the-art lighting and sound production booths. Additional public, faculty and student uses are accommodated by costume rooms, a gallery, practice spaces, including dedicated drum and piano spaces, and a music education room.
The project has a strong focus throughout on sustainability and campus community. Natural daylighting, high performance building envelope, passive and active PV systems, and healthy material selections are critical components of this project.
Rob Higgins, and the entire project team, took the time to understand how we operated and what our goals were for the PAC project and beyond. They understand the challenges, and opportunities, of building on an occupied educational campus, and they deliver the same commitment to building sustainably for our future as our two organizations do.
