Philo Ridge Farm

Project Overview:

New construction of community barn, dining, retail sales, and food production spaces.

This state-of-the-art facility adheres to the practice of sustainable construction as part of the mission of Philo Ridge Farm. The shell of the barn is built with full attention to the details of air infiltration mitigation, proper ventilation, water management, thorough insulation and an overall focus on energy efficiency. Wherever possible, local materials have been incorporated into the facility, including the historic ‘Garen Barn’ frame which was salvaged, restored, and reassembled by the Weather Hill Company, as the core of the new structure’s main dining area.

Fifteen wells support the geo-thermal loop that drives the heating and cooling system. All lighting has been carefully selected for efficiency, while staying true to the character of the barn building. Through its mission, building practices, and day-to-day operations, Philo Ridge Farm is a standard bearer for a healthy and sustainable community.
