NCC is pleased to announce the completion of the Vergennes Community Housing Project.
A collaborative CM project approach brought the entire project team: Addison County Community Trust, Evernorth, Vermont Integrated Architecture and their Design Team, and the NCC Project Team to the table early, maximizing project value and delivering a durable, beautiful and energy efficient affordable housing facility. This project includes 24 family rental apartments, with building amenities including a community library, laundry room and dedicated outdoor play and gathering spaces.
Of particular noted success are the sustainability and high-performance features of this multi-family project which will ensure low operational costs, reduced environmental impacts, and improved occupant comfort. Tri-pane windows, robust exterior insulation, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, energy recovery ventilation, and an air-tight envelope all contribute to this building’s low Energy Use Intensity (EUI).
Additionally, this project is now the tightest building that NCC has constructed with final blower door test results surpassing Passive House standards. The final result of 0.024 CFM50/SF of shell (6 sides) comes after years of continuous improvement and we couldn’t be more proud to be lifting the bar higher on every project.
