NCC has recently begun work on an exciting and challenging multi-phase project for the team at Runamok Maple.
In late 2017, with space maxed out at their original headquarters in Cambridge, Runamok purchased a 50,000 sf industrial facility down the road in Fairfax. The pre-engineered metal building comes with an interesting Vermont Industry history, having been built and occupied for most of its life by the Milton Bradley Wood Products Company, it produced 1 million scrabble tiles a day for over 20 years. Fast forward to today, a different Vermont Industry – Vermont’s strong food scene – brings an occupant that specializes in barrel-aged, smoked and infused maple syrups, and will be launching a new line of maple candy and maple cream this Spring.
In the meantime, NCC is tackling a full renovation of this facility. Bringing the spaces up to food production standards, upgrading the fire protection system, replacing the mechanical and electrical systems, executing building envelope upgrades, and repurposing the building to meet Runamok Maple’s production, warehousing, administration, packaging, and product development needs.
NCC’s expertise in fast-track renovations and food process facilities, combined with creative cost solutions and the ability to meet tight timelines, make this project a great fit for our team – we look forward to celebrating the expansion of another successful Vermont-based company.
